Dude, are you always that judgmental or is today just a special day? All of the laid off teachers that I know have been trying to get jobs all over, even non-teaching jobs. They have families to support. I can pretty much guarantee that they haven't been sitting on their keesters for three years doing nothing, Ken, I mean Mike, I mean Tony...

    Options,
How telling that you assume that waiting for a teaching job to open means that he/she isn't working at something else.
Time to find somewhere else to judge. How about the mirror.

    "There ARE other options,"

Wow. Bitter? Contrary to what you may think, I have not been sitting by the phone, twiddling my thumbs and waiting for Capo to call me back, while collecting unemployment checks. Your assumption that I have not been "one of those people who have spent 99 weeks getting paid for sitting at home and complaining on blogs about being laid off" is correct.

I never said I wasn't working (I am, and I have since I got laid off). What I said was that three years has been a long time to be away from the job that I loved. I still hope to be back in Capo at one point to teach in my own classroom again.

Although your lovely and not particularly pleasant post did remind me of the drama that surrounds a certain group of people here. My page has been turned, but it seems like you are still reading the same one as they were years ago.
