Members of the Juaneno Band of Mission Indians held a rally at Mission San Juan Capistrano this morning in support of the Mission administration.
The rally, which started at Del Obispo and Ortega Highway about 8:15 a.m.,
comes as some in town are angry about a decision by the Diocese of Orange to take over operations of the old Mission Cemetery and subsequent dismissal of longtime employee Jerry Nieblas.
A protest of those decisions is set for Saturday morning.
Tuesday's rally included Native American songs and ceremonies in the ruins of the Great Stone Church.
