Word is that Carolyn Williams, the former Dana Hills Principal and Capistrano Unified Assistant Superintendent, has landed the position of Interim Assistant Superintendent in Fullerton Joint Union High School.
That's the post last held by Sherine Smith, another former CUSD administrator who went to Fullerton and has now been named Superintendent of Laguna Beach Unified.
Another note about Smith -- the Laguna Beach Independent reports that 31 people applied for the Superintendent's job there.
congratulations Carolyn!
You have been missed and Fullerton is blessed to have you join their team.
Another example of how the idiots who run our District have chased away good people. Laguna, Fullerton, and soon to be other districts are voting with their contracts and grabbing up CUSD talent that should have stayed with our kids and schools.
Shame on CUSD and the fools that run this Distict!

Just throwing it out there. With the lower pay and turmoil, CUSD is no longer going to be a top choice for young and talented teachers coming out of college.

It is criminal what the current school board has done to CUSD. Reform my eye. Disaster was brought to CUSD by this board. It will takes years to build what these monsters have destroyed in a few short months.
It took years of training, cultivating and developing to build an administrative team that was second to none among Orange County school districts. Now, thanks to the bozos on the school board, one by one CUSD premiere administrators have been picked up by other good school districts. The legacy of this school board is pain, destruction and infamy.

Mikey, LOPEZ-Moaddox, Anna, Ellen and the reast of the BoT, thanks once again for all of your REFORMING. You have driven away great talent and once the economy improves, more administration and teachers will leave CUSD in droves. What was once a great school district has now become a complete joke.
I really hope voters in this district realize what these band of thieves has done to a once reputable district.

Lucky, LUCKY, Fullerton Joint Union. First Sherine, now Carolyn. If they can steal Eamonn O'Donovan from Los Alamitos, they will have won the trifecta!
Congratulations Carolyn! Your vast experience, knowledge, and people skills will benefit the students of Troy, Sunny Hills, Buena Park, Sonora, La Habra, and Fullerton, all in the top 1000 schools in the nation.
We are left with the 3rd string in Capo.

Anyone know what is going on at the board meeting? Especially with the layoffs? Did the new Superintendent show up?

District Teacher of the Year Awards are tonight at 5:30. Any board members going?

TOY event will be attended by Trustee Alikhani only. Farley will be there too. Saam and others will need to leave that event to attend the BOT meeting which starts at 7. Many of us plan to do both. If you do plan to do both you might want to go get your hand stamped and then come back. The TOY event ends around 7:30 so an overlap is probably the best a person can do.
There should be a good number of people attending the board meeting since the RIF notices have still not been rescinded and they are about to lay off about 20 classified and impose a close to 12% pay cut on those employees.
Farley won't be at the Board meeting most likely since he doesn't start until July 1st. Mahler is probably not going to be there since her contract is expires. She might be there to help pad her hourly rate billing though

Congratulations Carolyn and Fullerton Joint Union. Two class acts and two education leaders joined for the benefit of the students.
Reform Board of Trustees, are you proud of yourselves for driving every worthwhile administrative leader from CUSD to Fullerton, Los Alamitos, Newport Mesa, Laguna Beach? Are all of these fine school districts wrong in recognizing premiere education leaders? You are terrible excuses for governing board members and I can't wait until each and every one of you is gone, gone, gone! You have no idea how to lead, how to inspire, how to motivate. You are only masters of intimidation, threat, destruction and stupidity.

I am no fan of the current trustees but Carolyn Williams is a complete political (climber) and we are lucky to be rid of her. If you have friends in Fullerton, warn them against her!
