This in from a news release:
"The Orange County Asperger’s Support Group will host a panel discussion, The ABCs of IEPs, on Monday, February 28, 2011 beginning at 7 p.m. at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Newport Beach. The meeting is free to individuals and families dealing with Asperger’s, High-Functioning Autism (HFA) or PDD-NOS, but reservations are required. For information, call (714) 227-8819 or visit www.meetup.com/ocaspergers/.
Guest panelists include educational advocate Paul Eisenberg, special education attorney Jeffrey A. Gottlieb and autism expert Rosa Patterson, and they will share successful advocacy strategies with parents of children (pre-K through 12th grade) with Asperger’s, HFA or PDD-NOS."
The IEP (Individualized Education Plan) is a legally mandated document that addresses the way a child’s special needs are accommodated in the child’s LRE (Least Restrictive Environment). An effective IEP takes teamwork to determine what specialized services, adaptations and modifications may be needed to enable the child to make progress in his or her appropriate school placement. The bottom line is this: If a student has an IEP, the parent always has questions. This panel can provide the answers."

Just curious...why are there no educators on this panel? Or are they not listed in the release?
