Capistrano is home to one of 20 pianos left in public plays by the Orange County Pacific Symphony.
Capistrano's keyboard is just outside Mission Promenade, on Camino Capistrano just south of Ortega Highway. It's secured to a pillar to keep it in place, but the idea is encouraging an interest in music by making it more accessible.
Former Mayor Mark Neilsen is on the Symphony's advisory board and was instrumental (ahem) in getting the piano placed here. The piano was painted by Capistrano artist Arturo Guevara. it was placed Saturday and will remain three weeks before it's sold at auction as a fundraiser.
The Philharmonic's suggestion: Create your own event.
Create your own Piano Event!
Gather your family or friends together to create your own performance at one of the pianos. Here's how:
1.Plan your performance - the more creative and theatrical, the better!
2.Schedule your Piano Event below (location, time, etc.).
3.Get practicing, and then just show up to your piano at the right time. (If others are playing, tell them you scheduled an event, and they will most likely give you the very next turn.) We will promote your event on our Facebook and Twitter pages and we will ask the venues to do the same.
See the Philharmonic website for more information. We posted a video report on the homepage at www.thecapistranodispatch.com

We can see performers in the streets of other cities. This is a form of expression and others just wanted to entertain. I like the piano and the background. This is indeed a great post. There is something interesting about this post. More power and keep up the good work.
